Chelsea to heap more misery on struggling Arsenal

Since Southampton ended Arsenal’s impressive 22-game unbeaten run, the Gunners are yet to recover. Since, then, they have suffered damaging defeats against Liverpool, West Ham and Spurs in the Carabao Cup. Although Chelsea endured almost the same fate following their terrific start this season, they have recovered well and nicked important wins at Watford, Crystal Palace and at home against Bournemouth and more recently Newcastle. Heading into this derby, the Blues should cause the Gunners plenty of problems with their forward line led by Eden Hazard. Arsenal’s defences has been in shambles this season and have failed to keep a clean sheet since the start of December. The game is has previously provided goals and entertainment and we shouldn’t expect anything less at the Emirates. Match tip: Chelsea Win (2.30)

Liverpool to tighten grip on top of the table

Liverpool welcome Crystal Palace at Anfield after getting back to winning ways last weekend against a stubborn Brighton & Hove Albion. This will be the Reds’ first home game in 2019 and they will be looking to extend their four-point lead at the top of the table before champions Manchester City play bottom-placed team Huddersfield. Palace delivered a giant killing performance to beat City so Liverpool will be wary of the Eagles given they were the last team to win at Anfield back in April 2017. However, Liverpool have been terrific at home this season and with their attack firing on all cylinders, led by the league’s top scorer Mohamed Salah, the Reds should feel comfortable heading into this fixture. Match tip: Salah to score (1.75)

Spurs to struggle without Kane and Son

Tottenham Hotspur will be without England captain Harry Kane and South Korea international Son Heung-min in Sunday’s London derby against Fulham. The loss of their top scorer, who has netted 20 goals in all competitions this season, is a massive blow to Spurs’ title ambitions. Son meanwhile will be away on Asian Cup duty. Spurs are now short in the attacking department given both players have scored 47% of their team’s goals this season. Second choice striker Fernando Llorente, who has four goals this season, might not provide the potency the other two offer, but will feature heavily in the upcoming games. Match tip: Under 3.5 Goals (1.35)

Relegation six-pointer at St James’ Park.

An intriguing relegation battle is unfolding at the bottom of the table. Newcastle United and Cardiff City are right in the dog fight. Both teams, who are 19th and 18th respectively, face each other over the weekend at StJamesPark. The Magpies are coming off a bruising FA Cup third-round replay win away at Blackburn Rovers, where the extra minutes played and injuries sustained could play a role in this match. A win for either team will be pivotal and will go a long way in deciding who avoids the drop. Match tip: Under 2.5 Goals (1.60)

Can Jesus bring hot streak to away matches?

Brazilian and Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus continued with his magnificent form after scoring twice in City’s recent 3-0 win against Wolves. His goal tally in 2019 now stands at seven in just his third appearance this year. He scored four against Burton in the EFL Cup semi-final and one against Rotherham in the FA Cup. However, all of his goals have come at the Etihad. City face bottom team Huddersfield on Sunday and Jesus will be looking to break his goal scoring duck away from home. With City’s potency in front of goal lately, coupled with Jesus’ sparkling form, this is the moment he should relish. Match tip: Gabriel Jesus to score (1.90)
